Welcome to the official Code of Conduct and Bylaws of Overstimulated. These rules exist to keep our guild fair, organized, and enjoyable for everyone. We take progression seriously, respect the time our members invest, and believe that a strong guild is built on trust, accountability, and camaraderie.
Overstimulated is a semi-hardcore raiding guild. We want to clear content, improve as a team, and make meaningful progression without allowing the game to take priority over real life.
Our expectations are straightforward:
We are here to have fun, build friendships, and kill bosses together. We expect our members to help maintain that environment.
All members are expected to communicate respectfully with guildmates, raid leaders, officers, and other players.
Harassment, discrimination, targeted personal attacks, bullying, and deliberately disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Disagreements happen, but they must be handled constructively.
If an issue arises, address it calmly and privately with the appropriate person or an officer when possible. Do not turn guild chat, raid chat, or Discord into a battleground for personal disputes.
When participating in guild raids, members are expected to:
Mistakes are part of raiding. Refusing to learn, repeatedly ignoring instructions, or creating unnecessary conflict is a different matter.
We value reliability, but we do not expect members to sacrifice their real-world responsibilities for the guild.
If you cannot attend a scheduled raid or need to leave early, communicate with the raid team when reasonably possible. Emergencies and unexpected commitments happen, and no member is expected to justify every personal circumstance.
Repeated unexplained absences or a pattern of poor communication may affect raid participation or membership status. Real-life obligations, by themselves, are not misconduct.
Members represent Overstimulated when interacting with other players. Avoid unnecessary drama, harassment, cheating, exploitative behavior, and deliberate attempts to damage the guild’s reputation.
Officers may address serious conduct that materially affects guild members, raid operations, or the guild’s standing in the community.
Our loot system is designed to balance individual progression with the long-term strength of the raid team. Members are expected to understand the rules before participating in loot distribution.
Each raider may select two soft reserves per raid.
Soft reserves indicate the items a player particularly wants from that raid. They help communicate priorities but do not guarantee an item.
Raid leadership may clarify how ties, off-spec items, or other unusual circumstances are handled before a raid begins.
The Co-GM and Loot Officer have the authority to establish hard reserves.
A hard reserve designates an item for a specified player or purpose and takes priority over ordinary soft-reserve competition.
Hard reserves may be used when leadership determines that a particular item needs to be directed toward a specific character or raid need. They should be communicated clearly enough for affected raiders to understand the arrangement before loot decisions are made.
The Co-GM and Loot Officer are responsible for ensuring that hard reserves are handled consistently and that any applicable alt-related carry-forward rules are followed.
Floor loot goes to the guild bank.
Items designated as floor loot are not personal giveaways. They are collected for the benefit of the guild and its future needs.
The guild bank may be used to support guild operations, progression, consumables, crafting, and other approved guild purposes. Members should not assume that an item will be distributed personally just because nobody immediately claims it.
The Loot Officer or designated leadership is responsible for handling floor loot and ensuring it reaches the guild bank.
Loot is a tool for progression, not a measure of personal worth.
Members are expected to accept loot decisions respectfully, avoid pressuring other players, and raise legitimate concerns privately with the appropriate officer. Public arguments, entitlement, and attempts to undermine the loot process are unacceptable.
Leadership may resolve unusual loot situations in the interest of fairness and raid progression, subject to the established reserve rules.
Overstimulated welcomes alts, but our raid roster and loot systems are built around the needs of the guild’s main-character progression.
For this policy, a main is a character recognized by guild leadership as the player’s primary raiding character. An alt is an additional character played by that member.
Mains receive priority over alts when determining raid participation, progression needs, and loot eligibility, subject to the announced raid rules.
Alt participation is welcome when roster space, encounter needs, and raid leadership allow it. Bringing an alt does not grant that character the same priority as a main simply because the player is an established guild member.
Alt players must follow the same two-soft-reserve limit unless raid leadership announces a specific exception.
An alt’s soft reserve does not override a main’s priority under the guild’s applicable loot rules. Raiders should confirm eligibility before reserving items for an alt, particularly when a main-character reserve or hard reserve applies.
Main-character hard reserves can carry forward when a player attends on an alt.
This is a specific Overstimulated rule intended to prevent a player from losing an established main-character hard-reserve opportunity simply because they attend a particular raid on an alt.
If a main has an applicable hard reserve and the player raids on an alt, that main’s hard reserve may remain in effect for a future eligible raid. Playing an alt does not, by itself, erase or reset the main’s established hard-reserve position.
The following principles apply:
Carry-forward is not permission to claim multiple copies of an item, bypass another applicable hard reserve, or change a reserve retroactively. It preserves an eligible main’s existing reserve according to the terms originally established.
If a hard reserve’s duration, eligibility, or carry-forward status is unclear, the Co-GM or Loot Officer will clarify it before the relevant loot decision whenever reasonably possible.
Members raiding on alts are still expected to know their role, arrive prepared, follow instructions, and respect the raid team.
An alt is not an excuse for disruptive play or a lack of preparation. At the same time, alt raids should not be used to disadvantage the main-character progression of other guild members.
Leadership may limit alt participation when roster space, encounter requirements, or progression priorities demand it.
Overstimulated maintains a strict policy against gold buying and GDKP participation.
GDKP runs are prohibited for Overstimulated members.
Members may not participate in GDKP runs as buyers, sellers, bidders, organizers, or otherwise active participants. This policy applies whether the activity takes place inside or outside a guild raid.
Our loot system is based on the guild’s established rules, not real-money purchasing power or gold bidding.
Buying gold with real money from unauthorized sources is grounds for removal from the guild.
Gold buying creates unfair advantages, undermines the integrity of the game, and can expose both the player and the guild’s raiding roster to unnecessary risk.
Blizzard’s enforcement policies can change, and violations may result in account penalties. Regardless of the external penalty imposed, Overstimulated will not retain a raider who engages in prohibited gold buying.
Members are responsible for understanding and following Blizzard’s rules regarding currency, transactions, and third-party services.
This policy is not a warning system. Confirmed gold buying may result in immediate removal from the guild, including removal from the raid roster.
Guild ranks reflect a member’s role, trust, and standing within Overstimulated. Promotions are based on demonstrated contribution, reliability, attitude, and the responsibilities associated with each rank.
Promotion authority: Raid Leader.
The Raid Leader determines when a Member is ready to become a Raider.
Considerations may include raid performance, encounter preparation, consistency, teamwork, communication, and the ability to meet the guild’s progression expectations.
A promotion is not automatic based on time in the guild or gear level alone. The Raid Leader’s decision is final for this promotion.
Promotion authority: GM or Co-GM.
The Guild Master or Co-Guild Master determines when a Raider is ready to become a Veteran.
Veteran status recognizes a deeper level of trust, commitment, and contribution to the guild. It is not simply a reward for attendance or high performance.
Considerations may include long-term reliability, positive influence, maturity, teamwork, loyalty, and contributions to the guild beyond individual raid performance.
The GM or Co-GM has final authority over Raider-to-Veteran promotions.
Members are expected to respect the responsibilities and authority attached to guild ranks. A higher rank does not grant permission to disregard these bylaws or mistreat other members.
Leadership may review rank assignments when a member’s circumstances, activity, responsibilities, or conduct change.
Overstimulated relies on clear responsibilities so decisions can be made efficiently and fairly.
These bylaws may be updated as the guild grows, raid needs change, or policies require clarification.
Leadership is responsible for communicating material changes to the membership. Members are expected to follow the current published version rather than rely on outdated assumptions or informal recollections.
If two provisions appear to conflict, leadership will clarify how they apply. In particular, hard-reserve terms and main-character carry-forward should be confirmed before loot distribution whenever a dispute or ambiguity could reasonably arise.
The goal of these rules is not to create bureaucracy. It is to give everyone a consistent framework so that we can spend less time arguing about guild policy and more time enjoying the game together.
Overstimulated has been built by people who have stayed together through thick and thin for more than five years. That history matters, and protecting it is everyone’s responsibility.
We will pursue progression, respect the rules, support our teammates, and remember that the game is meant to be part of a good life, not a replacement for one.
We raid hard. We play fair. We stick together. Real life comes first. Always.
For the Alliance. For the guild. For the people behind the characters.
